In 1976 he founded, with a group of fellow artists, the "Free School of the Graphic Arts" in Matera. From 1988 onwards, he has participated with the printmaking collaborative "Grafica di Via Sette Dolori" also in Matera.
Rizzelli has participated in numerous printmaking courses held by artists like: Guido Strazza, Giulia Napoleone, Peter Willburger, Assadour and Lorenzo Bruno. His immense practical experience includes workshop experience with the artists of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome and experimenting with collographic techniques with various American universities under the supervision of Roberto Mannino. He is expert in photo etching, color printing and the Hayter method.
His works can be found in numerous public and private collections, including the Gabinetto delle Stampe Antiche e Moderne del Comune di Bagnacavallo and the Civic Print Collection of Achille Bertarelli in the Castle Sforza in Milan.
Recently Rizzelli's work took first prize in the Ex Libris competition sponsored by the city of Mestre.
